An air suspension shock is a component that combines the damping function of a traditional shock absorber with the load-bearing and height-adjusting capability of an air spring.

Instead of using a steel coil spring wrapped around a shock absorber (a common setup called a "coilover"), an air suspension uses a durable, rubberized air bag (the air spring) that is often mounted over or integrated with the shock absorber. This unit is called an air strut or air shock.
